When the Bark River Gunny was first introduces it was a runaway seller. It was so popular as an EDC that people soon began asking for a stainless version of the knife. Bark River elected to use Sandvik's Ultra-Pure Vacuum Remelted 19C27 Steel. This steel is about as Fine Grained as one could get without being a Powder Metal Steel. Bark River's heat treat maximizes the toughness of this fine Sandvik Steel and compliments it's edge holding. The Bark River Stainless Gunny is the same size and weight as the A-2 Gunny and is part of the growing series of knives in the Bravo-Clan.
The Gunny is a smaller version of the Bravo-1. The Bravo-1 is the knife that Bark River developed for the Force Recon Units of the U.S. Marine Corp. This scaled down version is designed to be as rugged and as useful but in a smaller, easier to carry package. The knife easily makes the crossover from military use to civilian use and is an excellent choice for a smaller all around hiking & camping knife.
The Gunny handle scales are contoured in the same style as the larger Bravo-1 and Bravo-2.
The Gunny is supplied with the "Sur-Loc" leather sheath made by Sharpshooter Sheath Systems.
